Addressing the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (U.N.A.A.) on September 27, 2014, Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi called upon the world community to adopt International Yoga Day.
On December 11, 2014, 193 members of the United Nations General Assembly approved the unanimous resolution of 177 co-supporting countries, with the resolution of adopting “International Yoga Day” on June 21.
